Course Description and Objectives:
*Students will gain a basic knowledge of the physics and fundamentals of lasers in dentistry
*Attendees will understand where lasers fit on the electromagnetic spectrum and what wavelength they operate in
*Students will see case studies to help them understand what lasers can do in the hands of a dental clinician
*Attendees will be able to understand how to utilize laser in periodontal pocket
*Students will gain knowledge of how to care for the laser
*Attendees will learn the benefits of what the laser can do for their patients

Angie Wallace, RDH

Angie Wallace, RDH has been a clinical hygienist for over 30 years. She's an active member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD), which is where she obtained her Advanced Level Proficiency. Angie is the only dental hygienist with ALD to have her Educator Status and received her ALD recognized course provider in, 2007 and her Mastership with ALD in 2008. Angie currently serves as the Chair for the Education Committee with the Academy of Laser Dentistry and serves on the Regulatory Affairs (working with states on dental hygiene laser use) and Auxiliary Committees for the ALD Board of Directors. She was the recipient of the 2014 John G. Sulewski, Distinguished Service Award from the Academy of Laser Dentistry and has been recognized as a Worldwide Speaker. She has a published book about dental hygiene and lasers. Angie is an in-office laser consultant with the Academy of Laser Dentistry, several laser companies, and has her own laser education company, Laser Hygiene, LLC.
